This may not be a new thread, exactly, but the info is worth posting to a new thread. The hum from hell has been found, and it is not transformer interference from another pre, it is VC1QD, the analog-digital converter on the back of my twinQcs, which Macmidimusic kindly fitted to it, although I did not request that. In the process, they did not send me the original plate, so when I return the A-D card, I will request a plate to cover the hole in my preamp. (duct tape, the handyman's secret weapon). The preamp has worked just fine in analog format since the moment I disconnected that sucker. Please note that in an earlier thread about this hum, Jerro posted that he had the same problem with the same component. Is this a design problem, or a bad run of components? I don't know, but I'll give them one chance to send me a useable unit before I request a refund. I'll let y'all know how it works out. Don't leave for hell without me- Jerro, I'm coming- Richie
