It is in series. The parallel connection is for a -10db pad.

Jeez. I just looked at again, and you're right. It is in series. The contacts were so close together that I mistook one of the FET contacts for the other lead of the mic an eighth of an inch away.

That makes SO much more sense now. I thought I was losing it there for a minute. :D
