It's a bit ironic that when musicians finally got the tools to make quality recordings unfettered by financial and time restraints the actual quality of the music has ceased to be a factor in making it.
How very, very true
In "our" day, your choice of music was a style of protest against the way the world was being run. Dylan, R.Stones, Hendrix, free love, ani-war etc. All that has gone. WTF's to protest about? Lots actually, but this generation has it all spoon fed to em so what motivation have they got to protest?
I think you are a lucky man you don't know what American Idol is, ignorance is bliss
Chuck, I don't know what advice I can give you to raise two daughters. You are right, women are pack animals. I had the rabbit on my side once upon a time, but he died
One thing I would add is to stay away from criticising any boyfriends, just grit your teeth and hope the'll see sense
And ignore ther temper tantrums (Just like you do their Mother's!)
I think with any kids, if you can bring em up to know what is right and what is wrong and get em to stay doing right, that is a remarkable achievement in itself.

You are right, the UK version of American Idol, Pop Idol (must have taken a wizard to think up these titles?) was a dirge, excrutiating to watch. I will admit there were some fine singers and some good performances but as for content? Oh dear......
But my family were addicted, ( not me, I would leave the room and go record something
it was always going to be a guy that won cos its the girls (teenagers, moms and grannies) that do the voting
I told my family that I suspected Gareth (the eventual winner) was gay and they all beat up on me. So I had a great big grin when it was announced afterwards that he was. Not that I have anything against gays, but my family voted for him based on his "cuteness". Puke
I see in the press that our esteemed leader, Tony Blair, is meeting Gearge Shrub at the ranch this weekend to discuss how to invade Iraq. Can't you just imagine the conversation? It would be funny if it wasn't so serious.
I'm makin music this weekend, and compared to the talks between our two leaders, I know which activity will make the world a safer place. Yes, you are right, the Camp David talks, you've heard my music making then?
