Ok,

I know this has been dicussed here a couple of times but I kinda have my own twist and I'm hoping a few others have gotten them by now.;)

Are the Davisound Pres all that? Really? See...I was looking at the Presonus Mp20. Heard good reviews for the most part and I'm all ready to buy except that I've been eyeing up the Davisound TB-6 and he looks like the real deal to me. He seems to know his stuff, it's hand built, possible custom options, and the prices really arent that nutty compared to "high end" consumer stuff like the MP20.

The math: MP20-2Ch.=$450-500/Davisound-4Ch.=$900

If the Davisound is that much better, it's a no brainer as the Davisound is actually cheaper per channel. I'd have to save for another month but if it's really the shit, I can do that.

What do you guys think? Any info or testimonial for either product would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

heylow

Damn, last year at this time the TB-6 was selling for only $650! I was going to buy one. Now I wish I had. Now the price is $900. Does that tell you anything?

I think it was JuSumPilgrum (I could be wrong) who recently compared the MP20 to the M-audio DMP2 and said the DMP2 was every bit as good as the MP20 (and the new DMP3 only costs $199 at GC). If it were me, I'd give the DMP3 a listen before I bought the MP20.

If I were you I'd have a conversation with Weston Ray (aka Recording Engineer). Ask him about the Davisound stuff. He's had the opportunity to compare it to a lot of high-end pres, and I certainly would trust his ears.

I´m also interested on the Davisound stuff... but not for now. You know, I don´t have enought time$$$ :)
