I have never connected an external MIDI device to a PC before. And so....I was wondering if anyone could..........

I got a MIDIMAN USB interface. I got the JV1010 connected through the MIDIMAN to my PC. How do I get SONAR to route the MIDI to this device? When I choose "tools" and "MIDI devices" I don't see any attributes for me to select an external device. I went to the CAKEWALK site, but they don't have any instrument definitions for the 1010. How can I make this this thing to work?

Basically, I just need to find out how to connect and operate the ROLAND JV1010 with SONAR.
Thank you!

The device(s) you need to select is(are) the MIDIMan MIDI interface output(s) and input(s).

Are you sure there's no definition file for the JV1010?

I don not even see the "MIDIMAN" 'in' or 'out' to select the devices. All I see is the soft synths and SBLIVE. I did install the drivers of MIDIMAN. I can see it under "devies" on my PC system and is working properly. But I don't see it on SONAR.

On the cakewalk page..I see alot of drivers for JV8080 but not the 1010.
Thanks

Been There Going Thru That

I'm trying to hook up the Tascam 788 to my P.C. I purchased the Midiman 2x2. I have not yet been able to get it to work. I'm running xp so your system may be different. In the control menu under Sounds and Audio Devices,I was able to set the midiman as my play back device. Even after that was done I still did not get the P.C to recognize sounds from the trackborad. Maybe I need to change the midi setting of the trackboard itself.

Just!
My system is cranking now. I reloaded the drivers from their website. So you might want to do that. Also select the MIDIMAN options under the MIDI options in your SONAR or whatever you are using. If you are still stuck, wrtie again, I might be able to walk you through. ;)

GOOD LOOKING OUT

My network is down for a minuet so I can't access the web from the studio. However as soon as I get it straight I will try that
