Hello there!

I've got a Yamaha MT4X cassette multitracker which I'm slowly learning how to use.

I've also got a new HP computer which I've installed the consumer version of ACID on. The computer just comes with the standard sound card - a Crystal Audio Codec, if memory serves me correctly - with the little output jack that feeds the two speakers.

Is there a cable I can get at Radio Shack or elsewhere that would enable me to run sound from my computer's speaker output directly into the 1/4" phone inputs on the back of the MT4X? ( A specific model number would help greatly - to prevent me from going back and forth from the store several times, as the folks at the Shack sometimes don't know what I'm looking for. And since I often don't know what I'm looking for either, well, problems is abound! )

Thanks in advance for any advice you may have to offer.

With all best wishes

A search on the internet brought me back nothing but audiophile stuff... So, I'll describe what you could use.

- 1/8" stereo male that splits to 2 1/4" mono

Or, various adapters that will result in the same.

One connector I saw on RS was this one:

Accepts Two Phono (RCA) Plugs. Fits 1/8" Stereo Jack
$3.69 Brand:
Cat.#: 274-369 Model: No model information available
Can be used to separate left and right-channel signals.

But then you need two RCA male to two 1/4" male.

However you arrive at that, this is what your looking for. The first option is the easiest, or maybe consider just making them, although those little 1/8" stereo's are not much fun to solder. Find a premade one.
