Your question was answered on page 1. The answer is there is no fucking answer. You have been told like a million fucking times now. You were even pointed to the tutorial in Glens signature. That will give you plenty of info on compression.
I will repeat tho, again, as everyone has done. There is no answer. It depends etc etc.
Would you ask me how to write a song and expect a formula?
Don't you think that if there was some kind of fucking preset you could used on your compressor to make everything magically great, then it would be published? If there was a preordained formula to making music, this fucking board wouldn't be here in the first place because we would know it all.
Grow the fuck up, just because you haven't been given your magical fucking answer (which I will repeat does not exist) you decide to throw a hissy fit at everyone for not giving you the answer you want. And you aren't expecting to get some shit back for it?
You know people gave you the benfit of the doubt to start with, but you persisted to give this fucking attitude.
Here's you answer, or should I say your options.
Option 1:
Firstly you want figure out why you want to compress something. Chances are you don't know whether something needs compressing yet, as you don't seem to know much about what they do. So when you have actually figured out what a compressor is for, that will give you half your answer. Then you slap your compressor on it, and play with the knobs until you get the right sound. Obviously a bit of knowledge as to what the knobs do helps with this.
Experimentation. Just like you would with a new guitar amp. You experiment to see what stuff does.
If you aren't willing to experiment and find out how things work then here is....
Option 2:
Open your web browser, sign up to Ebay. Box up all your recording gear, and sell it on Ebay, because you obviously really can't be bothered.
Don't go telling people to suck your cock because you don't get your own way. Its fucking childish. You got all the answers you could have been given. If you had done a search on compresson, you would have found more answers. The answer you are looking for doesn't exsist. Fucking deal with it, prick.
