Alright so I basically have nothing to work with, I have to use 3 converters to convert my Sm57 into the proper jack to fit into the line in in the back of my pc and I use fruity loops for drums and bass. This is a cover song of another band but I think it sounds pretty good.

Good song to cover. You done a good job and it does sound good.

yeah sounds good on my system mate, no nitpicks from me ;) Rock on

You did real good for what you have to use. Nice mixing and great guitar work. You should try adding a vocal in there to see where it goes?

I might try that tomorrow when I wake up, since I like that song pretty good. It'll probably be a little weird, since a girl sings it normally.

thats bloody awesome! can i ask some questions about how u did this?

Im a newb, so bare with me! For the opening riff, is that one or two guitars, and are they playing exactly the same riff? It sorta has a stereo effect, which made me wonder how you achieved that.

Then the rhythm guitar comes in. Is that just one guitar? or more?

Finally, how did you mic your amp?

I just ask all this cus I was very impressed and want to make stuff like u :)

In the opening riff it is 2 guitars playing the same riff panned left and right which gives it that stereo effect.

The rhythm guitars are playing the same thing and are panned left and right also to get a fuller sound.

I use a Shure sm57 microphone and position it slightly off the center cone.

Thanks a lot. I have found that when I do that technique (same riff played twice), it sounds messier. Do u have any tricks? Or can you just play guitar VERY steadily..

BTW, what guitar/amp/ dist pedal setup do u have..i really liked ur distorion sound.

thx again

I dont know I think I can just play the riff twice very much the same which helps it sound cleaner. I have a Peavey JSX head and Genz Benz G-Flex 4x12 Cab, I just used the amps distortion.

There is another trick to doubling tracks to get it to sound fuller. you record it once then copy and past it panned to the other side and slightly move it so that its not exactly the same time as the other but I dont really like this technique as much as recording the same part twice.
