List of Censored Words on Radio?

I sent OfCom an email about this matter and this is what they replied with.
This is for the UKm and might be different in the rest of the world.

"From my reading of the Ofcom Broadcasting Code there is no watershed on radio (see 1.5 at http://www.ofcom.org.uk/tv/ifi/codes/bcode/protectingu18/) but section 1.14 states “The most offensive language must not be broadcast before the watershed or when children are particularly likely to be listening.” You may wish to read the various sections further and wait more definitive advice from our Broadcast team.

Appendix 2 of this archived research document lists the most offensive words in 2000: http://www.ofcom.org.uk/static/archive/itc/research/delete_expletives.pdf and discusses the issue of deleting expletives.

I would advise you also contact any broadcasters you wish to approach to play your music on air as they may have their own station guidelines."

I always wondered why Roger Daltrey could say "Who the Fuck are you?" on the radio anytime of day or night and get away with it. I guess becuase he's Roger Daltrey.

man that's an awesome document!!

imagine being the guy who puts it together...i'd be giggling like a school girl the whole time :D

That is a great document! They've got this hexagonal chart of classifications of words as offensive. It looks unjustified and complicated: awesome!

I want to meet the 2% of British seniors who think "motherf***er" is a swear word and that "f***" isn't.

This is true. Clearchannel in Detroit after 10:00PM is like watching HBO. Almost anything goes, even an occasional F-bomb.
