Hey Rolf,

Just seen you take part in the reel to reel poll! We haven't heard from you in a while. I hope all is well with you and that you'll find the time to post here!

I see that you updated your page. I'm currently browsing!

Best wishes :)

Hi my old friend, it's been a long time since I made a visit here.
Dealt with health problems for several months.. but doing better again.
Actually updated the site last night, so how are you doing, living in Spain or UK nowdays ?

Hey, it's very good to hear from you my friend! I've been popping onto your site for several months and noted the lack of updates. Got me worried but I'm glad you're back and improving health wise. :)

No, not Spain, UK or anywhere else other than Canada ..... :(

Things had come up, out of my control but plans to leave have not changed, only the timing. Too long a story to tell.

Since last we talked, I received a smashed TASCAM 22-2. Got it for like 100 bucks, cheap, and it was low use and clean. I just needed that recorder sooner than later and it came damaged. I don't have it anymore. I won't buy from just anyone again. Final lesson learned. :(

So the plan moving got changed...I thought you were sipping tea now every 4 hours over in UK. :p
Yes my site had even spiderwebs hanging when went in there last night editing..what a mess.
Still dealing with old emails and orders.. :(
Was out of circulation for over 2 months..but doctors and hospitals can screw you over.
Sorry to hear about the Tascam 22, was it really bad damaged even inside or ?

Ps/ Look at my mess

Yeah, sipping english tea! Wouldn't really be a stretch 'cause I drink the beverage often! :D ;)

The TASCAM 22-2 was packed in a couple of inches of styrofoam sheets and a bag of pellets on top. Nothing else. When it got dropped, the styro was too firm to give way and absorb the shock so all went into the recorder ... The inside had cracked pots, PCB's etc ..... Numerous electrical problems. Not much damage to the outside but rather the inside. :(

Is it my eyes, or do I see a nice 22-2, upside down, in the picture ? :D ;)

Rolf, I have several parts from the 22-2, which includes 2 reel table assemblies, 2 vu meters, feet and some other possible odds and ends. Can you use any of those ? Send me a private message with your address and I'll mail 'em to you.

Sipping Old Grey is a good thing ;)
Yikes..so a really poor packing..that's a shame, but you know how many times this happens when dealing with poor sellers.
You right about the model in the picture, but not mint at all..parts deck with logic problems :(
Think there are 3-4 sad looking 22-2, have one decent left.
Do you still have your 3440 and mint mixer ? :)

:) Thanks, that would be great, missing a pair of feet here. Check your PM

YES! I have all of the gear! Never got rid of one and never will. Oh, forgot to mention that I added a near mint, low, low use, local pickup deal TASCAM 58-OB, with original manual and take up reel to my currently nicely packed arsenal of equipment! :D

PM back at you. :)
You found a mint 58 model, lucky dog there.
So what do you think about it ?
If I remember right a bigger Tascam was not in your collection before, correct ?

Thanks again for the Tascam parts.

First off, it's very, very heavy! It's built so well that it takes ones breath away. Sounds superb. It was sparingly used and had some oxidized contacts that deoxit cured. It still has one frozen meter when I don't used it for more than a few days. Its problem(s) are mostly due to non-use. I just don't have the time to delve into it. I need to find this time! ;)

No, it wasn't. I always wanted a 1/2" 8 track though and when it popped in locally, I took it. :D

Thanks again for the Tascam parts.

My pleasure. :)
