Calling All SOUND ENGINEERS!!!!

JSkillz... you do realize that it takes a whole hell of a lot more than a mic and some software to record something worth listening to, don't you? You might want to do some research and actually READ about compression, eq, mixing, gain staging, bit depths and sample rates, file formats, etc. etc. I have a feeling that even if you did have a "box full of gear", you wouldn't be able to even track something. Are you even aware of the learning curve within a digital audio application alone? Stop posting nonsense and READ, READ, READ, LEARN, LEARN, LEARN.... then APPLY WHAT YOU'VE READ AND LEARNED! Then come back here and ask questions and people would be more than happy to help. By the way... there is a neat feature on this board called SEARCH!!! I'm sure that if you learned to use it, you will find most of the answers to what you need to know.

Knowledge is far more useful than gear... remember that

Now let this thread die for gods sake.

Jskills, he's not being rude, he's making a point. If you want respect here, quit trying to stir up shit, read, and learn. If you aren't in the immediate need for a mic, quit looking for one. Gear doesn't mean SHIT unless you can actually use it.

Now log off and go practice your "skillz," or at least read something.

I know where you can go to find out.... to the MICROPHONE SECTION OF THIS FORUM!!!! Ask there!... have some respect for the members of this board and follow the rules. I'm sick of seeing this thread at the top of the mixing/mastering channel... that's why I want it to die. It's a useless thread!

I'm more than willing to give you advice and recommendations if you start a new thread in the appropriate forum, but only if you do a search (and don't find what your looking for). If you ask a question, and I do a basic search on it and find that it's already been covered... I promise you I'll never answer one of your posts again. There are way too many lazy people here that want handouts (advice wise) when basically every topic, piece of gear, and recording technique has already been covered. Do you think people here enjoy answering the same questions over, and over, and over, and over?

I will not be posting in this thread again. You may think I'm being rude, but I've just offered in my past few posts the best advice you've gotten yet.

Well the the sm 48 i can get for 30 bucks with a cord and if im whiling to go up into the hundred to buy the sm 58 im better off getting a better mic and spending like 150-200
Not correct........ For rap you'll be as well off with the SM-58 as anything you can get for up to a few hundred dollars. Just get a 58 and you'll have a little money left for something else.

I have to agree with the guys!

Jskillz you really need to start doing things for yourself when it comes to learning about mic's and what ever else you'd like to learn about regarding recording.

When you ask the same question over and over with out doing some research on your own, your going to get attitude.

Also when someone mentioned to search they meant the forum here not on google. Here is where you'll find out what your looking for.

One last note. If you don't make and effort to do things for yourself then no one in the board is going to take time to help you in any way. Show some effort man.

I don't think that's the ending he's was hoping for...

How about an ending involving a straightjacket, a crowbar, and a turkey baister? :D

THE END.

Well put Fat_Satchel

Hey Fat_Satchel good call on the soap thing though I have to agree that the ending could have been a bit more creative....lol.

Later,

Well, since you asked nicely:

Actually, we have a spinoff in development in the mic forum, tentatively called "As The Shits_gk Turns". But now:
------------------------------------------------------------------
Jskillzzzzzzzz, you shit-breathed, ignorant, hateful excuse for a cum stain, wipe yourself off this forum and choke on the tissue.

Yeah, keep smiling moron, drool on jizz is a nice color for you.

ill think about that :p

@ Jskillz, have you looked at www.zzounds.com/a--2676837. I dont know if someone may have mentioned that yet, with all this shit to sift threw there arent too many posts worth being on the thread, "some" of yours too homie. But I aint here to get into the stew, jus wanted to drop you an idea. Condensor mics are good to use, but if you are just starting off, you may want to consider getting a dynamic mic in the mean time. They are easier to record with, like the Shure 58, vs a condensor mic. And a lot cheaper, maybe you could get a dynamic mike which is cheaper, and focus some of you other cash on other gear. Most condensor mics usually require a treated atmosphere(like a recording booth or material set up in your studio to help cut down the reverberation), in order to get the best sound from that kind of mic. Jus an idea

And a further note. You may want to start a completly new thread with a specific question, it would save people from sifting threw all bs, and newer people you havent mangage to piss off yet may be more willing to help, peace...pM
