Listen, everybody is razzin you on the BBS because you come across like you want everyone else to "do your homework" for you.
People will be more receptive if you ask questions about what YOU want to accomplish with your music and how YOU might be able to learn how to do it with whatever equipment YOU may or may not have. If you dont have any gear to work with, just explain that to everybody and we can give you some suggestions on what gear you might be able to get and use to accomplish your goals.
Hey, we're all here to learn and share and even though I was kidding with you, I would be willing to try and better your tracks because I will take any opportunity I can get to better MY skills.
I am not a professional by any means........quite the contrary, I'm a recording hobbiest like a lot of the people on the BBS.
Dont take the ribbing too personal but just realize that almost all of the people on the BBS have spent many, many hours, many frustating hours of trial and error and by lucky chance learning their skills and STYLE and the CRAFT of making and recording music.
Consider that when you ask for people to give you their time and service for free, people who may very well have to scrape their equipment together $50 bucks at at time from pawn shops and friends and e-bay and wheeling and dealing........knowing that they are doing this for a passion not for making money........and then claim you only want to learn, it comes across as disingenuous and kind of insulting to those of us WILLING to spend the time and energy because they love doing it. And some people are bound to react with a "Why should I give away my hard earned skills and time to someone looking for a hand out." kind of attitude.......can you blame them??
If you are primarily a musicain and want to remain primarily a musician, you may not neccessarily want to get that involved with the recording side of things. I barely have time to write songs anymore because I'm always messing with sound and gear........but thats what I like to do.
And realize too, that most of us have asked a dumb or inappropriate question and got rosted of just plain flamed for it......it just helps shape the question asking skills in us all.
So take it like a man and ASK A BETTER QUESTION.
Like I said before, I would be willing to give go mastering your tracks (although it would NOT really be mastering....as Bruce will kindly explain to you) , but I have limited gear (namely Sound Forge 6 and Cool Edit Pro 2 and some outboard compressors) and am certainly not a mastering engineer (even if I do have the cap) but you are probably going to ask how I got this particular sound or why I did this or that anyway and ultimately have to try and do it yourself.
Its the only way to learn.......doing it....and then erasing it...and then doing it over....and then asking a specific question....and then doing it yet again...and then starting completely over....etc.....etc.

I'm just curious as to how he managed to create a mix worth mastering,on a setup which would be IMPROVED by obtaining a free shitty soundcard and whatever other old junk somebody would be willing to send to a douchebag like him.
