At what point would I begin to notice signal degradation due to extended cabinet cable length?

I'm hoping to place my guitar amp (ampeg vt120) in one room, the cabinet in the next room. Logistically this might work out well for me, but at what cost? ;) :D

I don't think you have to worry much about that, cellardweller. Its not a line level or instrument level signal...its a BIG signal.

I researched this topic not all that long ago as I am running a cab under our stage (in the basement of the auditorium) it's about a 50ft run. I was told that 14 ga. is good for up to 50 ft, anything over that you should go with 12 ga. ( I went with 14 and it's working just fine - Running 100W. into a 2x12)

You guys... how you tease me :o

25 ft. should be plenty.

There are other reasons I ask if it would even be worth the effort, such as clearing out the necessary space of stored objects and persons who would not appreciate arrangement. I also have cats, who would undoubtedly happily use my cab as a scratching post.

So I guess "logistically", it's still going to be bad, but maybe it will be worth it.

Thanks.
