C 414 substitute.

make sure it is what AKG says. AKG is notorious for releasing mics that say they is but ain't.

Anyone know what the capsule size is on an old 414? I am referring to the all brass capsule CK-12.
 
Some people keep on telling me....


"unless you get the AKG C 414 "EB" then don't even bother."

Well, I do see the EB's on Ebay now and again for $600, but.... I don't know.

What's wrong with the new model's?

In fact - I am pumped about the 214 !!
 
I use 4050s for drum over heads all the time. I find 414s to be a little, I dunno, shallow sounding... (Great quantifier there.)

This is strange. I have searched but can't find the size (mm) of the all brass CK-12 capsule. Anyone know??
