C 414 substitute.

make sure it is what AKG says. AKG is notorious for releasing mics that say they is but ain't.

Anyone know what the capsule size is on an old 414? I am referring to the all brass capsule CK-12.

Check new AKG model C214 - much cheaper but based on 414.

Well, I do see the EB's on Ebay now and again for $600, but.... I don't know.

I use 4050s for drum over heads all the time. I find 414s to be a little, I dunno, shallow sounding... (Great quantifier there.)

Here are a few tracks I did with 4050s as drum overheads.
