We all like freebies! But it's not always true that "The best things line life is free" (since it depends on your definition of "best things"). ;)

Well, if you haven't allready, check out GoldDrums at www.hammersound.net (I think it's on page 2 of drumkits). :)

Hey, all. Has anyone else (besides moskus) used the Blue Jay Drums soundfont with Sonar? If so, has anyone noticed that the EQ'd Yamaha kick is distorted? This is annoying. The snares are really good, and the toms are good, too, but I had to replace the kicks. I also replaced the hats and the ride cymbals. Everything else sounds like it's recorded pretty good, but I was curious about the distorted kick drums. Thanks

Hehe, while looking at the drummaps I just discovered a couple of new samples (kick, and some cool ones in the brush kit)...never knew they even existed!

Ed, I was thinking about this...there's sample of a kick with 'snares on' and a sample of a kick with 'snares off'. I assume the gritty sound at the end of kick 1 perhaps makes you think it's distorting. Try the other kick and see if it solves your 'problem'....

Just a wild guess, of course...

You didn't know about these 'hidden' samples either?

They're not in the soundfont on the Sonar 2 CD... ;)

You really believe that Cakewalk marketing talk? You just paid more for SONAR... :)

Still thinking about replacing my Audigy...but I can't make a choice...(with a guitar ánd basspod I'd like to have 2x midi in and 2 midi out - midikeyboard is USB - and with my mixer I only need one stereo audio in, and one stereo audio out on the card. I kinda like the headphone jack in my Audigy frontpanel...I assume I'll have to use the mixer for that when I switch to another kind of card...I mean, route the stereo signal to my mixer and stick my headphone jack into the mixer....will it work? Not sure...)

Terratec, Audiophile, Midiman?

Midiman is now known as M-Audio, the producer of the Delta series... ;)

I would get an Audiophile, or a Terratec 6Line Fire if I had little money...

Or the Delta 1010 if I was rich... :D

Why would ? We LOVE our Soundblaster !!! <--That explains many things :p :D

I believe you guys only love my soundblaster...it takes tender care to make it shine LOL :D

You know, the only thing that makes me wanna buy another card is the 100ms latency. It's really hard to play with that. I hate playing with latency, too much of an oldfashioned musician for that kinda thing. OK, with the new drivers I can change it to 50ms, but then the DX FX freak out.

I really really REALLY like the convenience of 'direct soundfonts'. Is there any other high quality card that supports soundfonts the way like the Audigy does?

Ah, I don't have to look any further...Terratec it will be! :D

With a frontpanel like this I don't have to miss anything!

On the other hand...I've just read some terrible stories about this card (beeping headphonejacks, hiss, high latency etc.)

Weird.

Really? I've only heard good about it (compared to Audigy2 that is)... :)

I can't imagine that it's a bad card either...I've read a lot of good review. Seems like the critics love it, but the customers don't. Like I said: weird!
