Hello everyone,

I have bought a behringer DEQ24/96 31 band programmable EQ and I want to use it with my line level guitar equipment (PSA1 pre amp). The problem is the DEQ has XLR inputs and outputs.

Can I use regular XLR male/female connectors on mono cables with 1/4 TS plugs, or do I need the XLR connectors with the bult in transformer? What is the wiring convention, do I just use the "+" and "-" and leave the ground (pin 1) open?

Thanks for any help/advice, I appreciate it!

I'm not sure what the problem is. The Preamp has line level balanced XLR outputs, the EQ accepts line level balanced XLR inputs.
Can't you just use an XLRm to XLRf regular old microphone cable?
Or are you having a problem with the output of the Behringer?
What do you want it to go into?
Something else that's gonna accept line level output but in a quarter inch?
I mean, is this what you're looking for?

Probably just misunderstood what you want, in which case :spank: to me.

Sorry, I should be more clear. Basically I want to use the DEQ in a Guitar rack, so I want the DEQ in/outs converted to 1/4 unbalanced TS connects so I can use it other non-XLR equipment anywhere in my chain.

@The Cancers,
Yes, like the link, but I want to make my own because I can not find 1' (rack)cables like those. I may want the EQ before the preamp and/or after the preamp or other unbalanced equipment that does not use XLR connections, but 1/4 TS connections.

@Bouldersoundguy,
Great link! So 1/4 TS to regular XLR connects for the inputs and the transformer connecters for the DEQ XLR outputs to 1/4 TS would be the best (quietest) way to go?

Thanks to both of you for helping me out, I appreciate it!
