Legend in Own Mind
I’ve got the Audiophile 2496 and the SB Live in a 2.4GHZ P4 system and I use Sonar 2XL to record. The only reason I have the SB Live is for games, multimedia, etc. I disable the SB when recording so I won’t have any problems but I would like to listen to playback through the speakers (I don’t have any studio monitors yet). When I try to playback through the SB it sounds very choppy, almost like a dropout every other second.
I thought this might be due to the fact that I’m recording in 24bit but I tried playing a project I had recorded in 16bit and it did the exact same thing. However, music CDS, MP3s, games, etc. all sound fine when played through the SB—it’s only playback in Sonar that sounds like arse. I’m sure there is a setting somewhere in Sonar that would fix this but I haven’t figured it out yet.
Also, any other general advice about using Sonar, Audiophile, and SB Live together would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers!
