I just became the proud owner of E-maigc Audio Logic Platinum and I noticed that the software came with 3 manuals, one would make War & Peace seem like a coffee table book. Now I know that everyone under the sun and on this website told me in the beginning that I might consider buying an easier program in the begninning to learn. But I decided to go ahead and dive in. And I have been doing a little more sinking than swiming. And the manuals are of little help. They are dryier than dessert sand. Anyway, my question to you guys is... out of the several books written by people other than E-magic over Audio Logic Platinum... Whcih one is the most kindergarten, and will guide me through at least one MIDI recording?

Thanks guys,
Mike

Wizoo will do

Don't give up yet! I know it's a daunting program to learn. I have been using Logic Audio for about 5 years and still have no clue how to use some of the myriad features that are available. I would suggest you try to get through the LAP manual that came with the software. The translation from German makes an already tech-heavy tome even more confusing, but it definitely is comprehensive. I would also check out some of the books from Wizoo. (I think their url is www.wizoo.com) They have lots of useful handbooks that may help you get started.

Good luck! If you have any specific questions, let me know. I may be able to help a bit.

And remember the payoff for climbing this steep learning curve will be well worth it when your crusing down the downhill side.

CD tutorial

Mike,
I suggest you checkout the Logic 4.0 CD put out by http://www.coolbreezesys.com/. This gives automated mouse movements and voice instruction. This company does several ProTools CD's and is not part of Emagic. It is worth the $80 unless you like reading those manuels til you're ready for the funny farm.
