I mix in (2x) real-time
Alright. I never know what to title my mp3 mixing clinic threads. Hopefully that one suffices.

My friend and I have started a new band. Me on guitar and vocals and him on Drums. We try to keep it busy and we might even try to have just the two of us in the band rather than a bassist or more people. Check this song out. Though I don't like to label myself a genre, I will go as far to say that this is indie math rock.

Please listen and tell me what you think.

So your intention is to be busy? the "verses" sound just a little too busy on the drums. Also, a metronome would probably take care of a lot of that.

Yea we do intend to keep it rather busy. We recorded it live without a metronome. We opted to play it with each other at the same time ... maybe next time we could play together but with a metronome as well. Thank you.

Because of its busyness, I would recommend a metronome. If things that busy are out of time, they can sound horrid. I dig the tune, and it certainly is one-of-a-kind. Keep it up!

Damn, that sounds good, both production wise and song wise. It is rather busy. What might be nice is some contrast to make the busy parts sound busier. All-in-all, good work.

Its pretty cool. Very interesting stuff. It needs to be MUCH tighter. Ya gotta nail it for it to be very effective. Very creative stuff.:)

Thanks a lot guys. Jrhager , I hear ya out on that one. I can agree with what youre saying completely. As a band, we will only get tighter with time but a metronome may expedite the process.

IronFlippa, thanks a lot for your kind words. So contrast as in less busy parts to contrast the busy parts and keep it interesting I suppose? Im flattered that you like my production honestly.

Thanks a lot for the comments.:)

DavidK, Tighter tighter tighter. I gotcha. I'm glad you think its interesting. May be off topic with the thread but may I digress to say that your stuff is well composed every time I've gotten to hear any of it. Thanks a lot for your comment.
