Are Violet and BLUE the same company?

I've been looking at Violet's line of mic and it looks exactly like BLUE's line. Both are made in Lativa so i was just wondering if they are both the same.

No, not really. Violet is some former guys that worked at the Latvian factory. There is a long and somewhat contentious story behind who designed the Blue mics, etc. If you do a search here for Violet, you will see most of the history.

...and the authorities just denied Violet's registration applications for their mic designs because they infringe on Blue's designs...now, Blue will proceed with their counter-suits to stop Violet from producing the mics that infringe on their designs...not very promising for the guys at Violet

That's too bad for Violet. I don't know why they did the copies, their own designs look pretty cool, I wanted to try a Black Knight and Pearl if I had the spread. We could have had another cool brand but now it's all more money for the lawyers

I thought it was odd that you can never seem to find a place where you can see the prices. Maybe I'm not looking in the right places.
