Anyone wanna do a collaboration recording?

So, is it going to be 7/8 or 4/4? If it's 4/4 I call drums. :D If it's 7/8 I dont think I could learn a new time signature and be comfortable with the results. I'm not that good. lol. Let me know what's up with the scratch and get it laid out the way you want it, then i'll get it, sync it, and start bangin around a bit until i get something listenable. lol

Look in this link to the song called "you", it's the complete scratch track. Just listen to it for the fills, but try to keep the feel....

I lost it in the shuffle. Soundclick had some issues a few days ago. I am still trying to find it so that I can get it back up. I can't find it on my pc either, so I may just record it again. It's a simple piece, so I will have it up in a day...

I checked it and answered you back. Should have a working bass line in a couple days.... I will post it when I am done.



Who wants the guitar parts? I have to redo the scratch track and put it up. I will have that done in about 12 hours.........

Hmmm...I think I'm intrigued. It would be cool to do some tunes with all the folks here that are quickly becoming good buddies of mine. I won't be able to access any of the info over the weekend, but if Rokket can hook me up, then I can grab whatever you guys need me to do and get started on Monday. So if you need some guitaring done, I'd like a shot at it. (even if you feel like staying in 7/8!)

Wooohooo! At last!

I am going to redo the scratch track, and have it done in about 2 or 3 hours. I will PM you so you can download it and start working on it. It's a 4/4 progression and pretty easy to play (hell if I can do it...).

Watch your PM...
 
The friggin drum file is HUGE! I've been downloading it on cable modem, but it's still downloading as we speak.. 179MB!!!!

Too busy with life... BTW, did you notice how far the other Dave got the 100 page thread?


I'll put the scratch track up in about 2 to 3 hours. The drums just finished downloading. I am going to take a look at them...

There is about 17 seconds of dead space before the drums kick in. I don't have the time to work through them to get the scratch track up, so I am going to just use my drum machine.

Purge, once you get this, PM me so I can fill you in...
 
OK, the scratch track is back up. It's pretty raw, but you can get a good idea of the song off it. I was playing around with it in Vegas before I put it up just to clean it up, but other than that it's unmixed, the levels are almost identical to what I recorded on my MR-8.

And I added a little clip from "Outlaw Jose Wales" to the intro (it doesn't have to stay there, I was experimenting with some of the features in Vegas...)

The drums are pretty much done, and I've got the bass part. There are still guitar parts to do. Purge has dibs one one (and probably the solos), so there are still guitar parts that can be done (both acoustic and electric). So feel free to do what you want with it, then post it!
