Are there any non-stick Gloss finishes out there?

hello-

I just did an amateur forearm contour job on my Tele copy

My sweaty forearm sticks to the glossy paint I'm using. When I sand it down to a matte finish its fine, but even though its a copy/project type guitar I want to atleast =try= to make it look right. Like the rest of the body.

is gloss finish of every type going to give me this trouble?

Its weird I never noticed this before on my other properly finished guitars

thanks

A good nitrocellulose lacquer should not be sticky. If you want it to feel right, you need to have it finished with nitro, which is not a do-it-yourself proposition. Take it to a good repair shop, and see if they do finish work. If they do not, see if they know someone who does.

aha

thank you. I think I've heard of Nitro. Hmm I'll have to think about that. Maybe for the time being I'll have a funky looking guitar. Its OK because the matte finish I have on the contour that I've sanded is usually covered by my forearm.

thanks for the tip
