is the whole mg series all solid state?

Yep

Mate you don't need a stack to be loud, 30 tube watts is pleanty. Look into ebay $300 used will buy you alot more than $300 new

might not need a stack to be loud but they look awsome!!!!

true but you could buy an extra cabinet to keep at drummers house one at your house, but then live shows yea that would suck

get a fender bassman (alot cheaper than a jcm800) from ebay and take it to tech to have it modded for high gain. i bet it would shit all over that mg.

I believe a turd wrapped up in alfoil and burnt would sound better than that MG.

They IMHO are tinny and thin....much like a turd wrapped in alfoil

a bassman idk man thats kinda wierd

marshalls were spawned from bassmans so it's really not so weird........unless you're hung up on cosmetics.

well its a bass amp though is what i mean
yeah but it's a crappy bass amp ... lol .... but a pretty decent guitar amp. Also, as Travis points out, the basic early Marshall designs, which are highly thought of, are based on the bassmans' circuit design.

what Lt. Bob said. the way i understand it, the early marshalls were a direct rip off of the early bassmans with tweaks gradually added over the years.

well ok but how much will it cost to mod it for high gain and which amp,or just any bassman?
