880 mixing query

Can anyone give me some advice on how to get the 880 to record my pan settings when I bounce tracks? Example: guitars, mandolin, etc. on channels 1-6 sent through the VS8F-1 to channels 7 and 8, but it seems that no matter how I EQ or pan 1-6, the panning on 7 and 8 is always right in the middle. Of course I can then pan the bounced tracks on 7 and 8, but then the sounds from 1-6 are spread evenly all over the sound field, instead being neatly separated. Surely I am not the only guy to ever run into this.... Naturally the manuals have been less than helpful. Any insights out there?
 
panning on VS-880

I have always set up my tracks to be bounced just as I would to listen to them...panning and all.On track 7 put the input on MIX L,and on track 8,MIX RIGHT.Turn the MIX Sw
on both channels off,pan 7 hard left and 8 hard right,and you should have it.Good luck.
