Anyway...nuff of that. Thank you again..if you don't mind me calling you...my FRIEND.

oh, and btw Rod, I haven't been back to that thread. I don't think I'll ever visit Studiotits again cause I've kinda lost interest in that depth of this stuff. Although, apparently, my explanation for my "remark" must have cleared it up..or you wouldn't have spoke to me.

Rick,
I don't mind that at all (you calling me friend that is)
Just for the record - even if you hadn't posted that follow-up response i would still be the same - I would like to believe that I am not so small or petty that difference of opinion with a friend makes me throw away the relationship.
You were frustrated - I helped in some part to fuel the fire that led to that frustration - and for that I am sorry - although the answers I gave were the best I could - because sometimes life is just the way it is.
I remember the first time I saw the plans (just a floor plan in the first view) of Power Station's "A" room - and it immediately made sense to me. My boss (at the time - who is also a close personal friend) was laughing as he pulled it out and began to open it up - and he said to me - "OK Rocket (that's my nic in real life - he gave it to me) we have one that is gonna make even you scratch your head - this one is a real challenge."
When i looked at it - and then almost immediately told him that it made perfect sense - that I could see why it worked the way it did - he was dumbfounded - even challenged some of my explanations because Tony had gone completely berserk when anyone in the initial meetings even suggested they understood the room.
So we begin construction - and roughly 2 weeks into it I am having a conversation with the president of Multimedia (who was one of the people there when he blew up) and I am explaining to him why I can make this room work perfectly - and he calls Tony up and says he needs him to come down because some hotshot says he knows the room - and Tony needs to straighten me out.
So Tony shows up the next day and says to me - "So you're the guy who thinks he's so smart that he could figure out what the best brains in the industry can't - well if you're so smart explain to me how and why my rooms work"..... So I did - and as I spoke he got more and more excited because he realized that i did know - and the three suits standing there (including my boss) grew more and more puzzled as he became more and more animated..anyway by the time the project was completed - and I had secretly corrected the design error I found - Tony and I were best friends - and when he walked into the room to test it - and found that it didn't need tuning even he was completely blown away......
Now - I went through this whole thing to make a point - which is this - we all have our gifts and talents - just as we all have areas where we should never venture into..
My boss at the time (Bob) was a Senior Project Manager - went on to become a Vice President - and then to become (what he is currently doing now) Director of a billion + dollar project..... he is extremely organized - extremely intelligent - and one of the best I have ever worked with (we actually have been together through 3 different companies)
I - on the other hand - am extremely disorganized - have piles upon piles of papers and books strewn around my desk - and although i know pretty much where every paper is in which pile (on Adriaen's landing (for example)I had sometimes 5 or 6 piles of paper running as much as 3' tall) I am the bane of the owners because they just don't understand why I can't file things away the way that Bob does....
However - Bob and I understand that his greatest strengths make him what he is - (while mine assure that I will never achieve that - I have climbed as high up the corporate ladder as I ever will) by the same token, mine make me what I am (and he will never achieve that - he has climbed as high as he will ever get in the field of engineering).
While I can make a room sound great - I have not been able to achieve doing so while making it look as beautiful as the designs Wes comes up with (at least not in my mind) -
We all have that which comes to us and that which doesn't.
Your studio is stunningly beautiful - and I have no doubt that it will sound great - so build on that - understand why and how it works- and you then have something which few will ever achieve.
How I make it from "A" to "B" is not important - all that matters (or should matter) to you is how you do.........
Believe me - Bob and I have had some real head knockers - even a few occasions where he actually looked at me and said "you're going to do exactly as I said because I am your boss - PERIOD !!!!!!!!!!!!"
But we never let any of that ruin our friendship...... opinions and methodologies are one thing - friendships are another thing altogether.
I am an odd duck (I will admit)- but you shouldn't worry about ruffling my feathers.........
Sincerely,
Rod
