You guys do the 2 compressor thing? For the Byrds, and other great jangles..

What 2 are you using?
I like the mini MXR Dynacomp and mini Keeley as in the video.

I've never gotten comfortable with compressors. I hear very little difference with and without. But, I do have 3 dbx 266s hanging around the house. I don't have a 330/12, but I do have the 330/6 and the Country Gentleman. I think I may have to give this a try.

DBX is good compression. However, an effects pedal type compressor might be more tailored for a guitar. The compressor is part of the rock n roll sound, i suppose. Makes you sound better than you actually are. It works for me like in the video.

The Gretsch? $620 Brand New with hardcase. I will never figure out how guitar buying works. It came as described. Currently the' Buy it now' is $699. For a $999.99 guitar. I don't get it. Hundreds cheaper than the big chain stores.

This is a nice guitar on Reverb.. No case, made in China. Good price. The walnut stain is really the way to go, BYMMV

This one is Korean, and very much worth the upcharge. It's from the Manchester Music Mill here in NH, and I've purchased my Epi Emperor II and Epi Casino from there. Great shop, great service, super nice staff. You can easily make them an offer, of ask for a HSC. They'll say yea or nay. But most of all, I would go for the Korean.

Yes I bought a new one. There are a few of those Gretsch 12 strings on ebay from $620-699.
