In December I shot a short feature. I've pieced it all together in DaVinci, and got the sound OK. I'm still considering putting my own music where I have AI generated music now. But, I'm not really sure.
Has anyone ever mixed/mastered a short film? Would anyone want to try for screen credit...
These aren't for me. I have a friend in NYC who travels on the bus every day, and between the people with their phones, talking, listening to music, and the bus driver who plays music, it's driving her insane.
Years ago I tried a few pairs in stores, and they didn't really cancel anything out...
A RockAxe guitar with the speaker in the body was sitting on a tarp at the flea market. $5. Great. I'll take it.
The battery cover was missing, and the 9V adapter was torn out. The wires were still there. I put the wires to the 9V and the speaker works.
I had to pay $2.50 for a 9V adapter. It...
This isn't so much a mix it, as it is, making it sound better.
I could play with it for a few weeks and not be satisfied. Perhaps someone here would like to take a shot.
The show was pretty good. it was one guitar, drums and vocal. They used a ton of backing tracks. So, it sounds a lot like...
I posted a thread about a Gibson Custom that was fake. This one isn't.
I search guitars at various auctions sites and found this one. It was listed as a "Vintage Montgomery Wards Acoustic Guitar". The photos looked really cool. I looked up the guitar and it was made by Gibson. It was 250...
I am a cheap fuck. Going back to the 80s, there was a person on Long Island who had a lap steel for $20. Every week I'd ask if they'd take $10. It was more than worth $20. But, again, I'm a cheap fuck. Plus, I didn't really need it.
I bought this at auction. I paid a lot more than $20. But, I...
I bought a used Dell computer with Windows 10 and downloaded Reaper. I want to eventually use it to record on. But, I also thought I'd remix my last songs, try to get better mixes and remember what to do with music.
Years ago someone here (I can't find the thread) mentioned a meter (or...
Besides my myriad of normal problems, I might be giving the wrong impression of how loud I'm going to be playing my home studio (when I eventually, if ever, decide to record again).
I'm not as much worried about bothering my wife. Because I've always recorded at night after she goes to bed...
I procrastinate. I have my movie theatre in the attic. I've been using that for almost a year. I don't have to put it loud for it to be loud in the room. You can hear it down the two flights of stairs, yet miraculously when you step away from the stairs, the sound can't be heard.
I still want...
I sincerely did not know auto tune could be applied at a live performance. This video goes through Michael Buble's poorly autotuned performance on a live morning talk show. He was going to compare it to his live MSG performance. But, it turns out, autotune was being used there also.
It's...
Go ahead laugh. It's a toy. A junk keyboard. I don't know. I just bought it today at a rummage sale for $5. That's right five dollars. It seems to have a 16 track sequencer in it. The coolest thing (I've only played it for about 5 minutes) it has the clefs in the screen. When you play the...
We're finally getting settled in our townhouse, and there's positives and negatives.
Positives: The area. After spending most of my life living and hanging out in NYC, I'm in the sticks. Yes, we're in a townhouse development. But, once we leave, we can get to our favorite shops by backroads...
I have an 86 black Les Paul that's my recording guitar. I play a Craviola acoustic, that I picked up in a pawn shop in Nashville for $50 or $100. I play the Hofner bass that replaced my Fender Precision. I have many more that have in hiding for years. We're moving. So, out of hiding. These are...
This is where the "magic" happened. There was a Roland G5 drum kit and Korg 264 also.
Hey... it's called home recording.
If anyone would like to hear some of the songs recorded in this majestic studio, here's a link

We're moving to a Townhouse that Karen inherited (it's free and lower taxes). We just have to sell this house. I'm worried about my music and movie sound reaching through the walls. I don't play anything loud. But, I am partially deaf (can't imagine why. Maybe it was maxing the volume with...
All these place basically lie to get your money. I wanted to ask some questions from CD Baby before I paid, and they couldn't be bothered to answer. So, I never bothered to put up Pretty Old Bones. Even though they don't bother to respond. I've read they're the cheapest place, because it's a one...
A friend sent a drum track that sounds like a kit. Kick/Snare/Hats I put it in Melodyne and exported a Midi file. I put that file in Pro Tools and for some strange reason it made the track one note. So, if normally a Kick is G, Snare is A and Hats are B. They're all a C. I've never had that...
I've had an MC-303 for years. I enjoy it. I thought I've sent out midi signals to record in Pro Tools or to my synth. But, it doesn't seem to be working.
I can sync it up to be a slave or master, and that's perfect. I turn Sys 2 to ON and it still doesn't send out the midi notes to be...
Vinyl is making a huge comeback. Why? I'm not really sure. But, music recorded analog does sound richer/fuller and purer on vinyl than they do on CD. But, CDs are portable and MP3s have music coming out of something that doesn't have a speaker. How does cell phone music work?
As I was told...
I KNOW NOTHING about electronics old or new. But, I do know from watching a youtube video, an old radio can be turned into an MP3 player. Watching the video I'm positive it's too advanced for me to do. But, I do have some questions that perhaps someone might know the answer to.
Here's photos...
