So i wrote a song.. And decided i'd try to play with synth to make it, I'm not exactly good at mixing and mastering stuff. Currently having ear fatigue and pretty brain dead to criticise it myself :)

Is that you singing? Your voice is amazing. I think it sounds at its best almost dry (as it is in the first 15 seconds). I'm not sure how I feel about the reverb effects you have going on in the vocal harmony parts but I guess that's just the kind of sound effect you wanted to go for to give it that kind of feeling for this genre. The hihat/kick/snare are reaaally weak. I don't know if it's intentional. Also I think the vocals get lost a bit behind the synths at many parts (particularly when everything is playing). In my opinion they could come up about 1-2db. Keep in mind you can use volume automation to bring them up or down at specific points.

Agree - a very nice singing voice. I don't care for the weird reverb on it. Shine the spotlight on the vocal - don't distract the listener from it. When the vocal comes back after the reverb, it's getting covered just a bit by the synths. I'd just nudge the vocal up there.

thank you!, yeah it's me singing. and thanks so much for your advice! I agree, I was really confused what sorts of fx I need to put on my vocals and couldn't find the right one that sits nicely on the track, And I also agree with the hihat/kick/snare as well, I was going to go for a really minimal feel to just sit in the background because i don't want it to be over the top. What would you recommend the hihat/kick/snare to be like? (to make it more stronger) Thanks so much again! really helped :)

thank you!, I agree now that i re-listened to it the day after, the vocal disappeared sometimes, thanks for your input!
