The beauty of the JVM is that each channel has it's own EQ, it's own reverb, it's own gain, and it's own volume. They all can go to the effects loop. So you can skip from channel to channel, mode to mode, with or without effects loop, without one setting screwing up another. It also has two master volumes. If you wanna cruise your rhythms on Crunch Orange, and then kick it into OD1 Green for leads with a volume boost and reverb, no problem. It's a simple tap of the footswitch.
I agree, & I've never played through one...I will have one eventually, but for now,
the DSL100 & Chupacabra do pretty fuckin' good IMO...Love 'em, both are great....The only thing if/when I ever get a JVM would be all the choices I'd have...lol...It'd be like I was using ampsims again, endlessly tweaking, just with real knobs...hahaha
The effects loop can be dialed in to be serial or parallel, and there's a separate power amp loop. The power amp loop allows you to use something like the horrid AxeFX and pipe it into the JVM's power section so you can amplify it through a cab. I've never touched the power amp loop. I like the regular effects loop though.
No offense to your DSL minerman, but any dude that ditches the JVM for a DSL because he can't figure out the effects loop is a class A doofus.
That was a head scratcher for me too dude, but to each his own...The loop on the JVM is either series or parallel, so that's a win/win to me, you can use it about any way you'd wanna...I don't remember exactly what the guy said, but it was something about the loop not sounding "right" with his Axe FxII, I'm guessing he had the levels in/out all fucked up on both the amp & the Axe Fx, so it sounded like shit...I'd love to have an Axe Fx just for the effects, but I'm not gonna plunk down that kinda $$$ for it...
I paid $1150 for mine, I think. I found it used at Guitar Center online and had it shipped right to me. It's literally in brand new condition. 2010 model. Still had the factory stickers all over it.
They're out there, & at good prices...I just can't swing anything right now, as I'm still out of work, & have the new house payment...I can get by on unemployment, but it'll be tight, really tight, so there's no way I can put anything back toward another amp until I go back to work...
Like I said, I had one picked out, actually was about to send that guy the $$$ via Paypal, but backed out. I don't remember why I backed out, but it turned out to be a golden move on my part. I would have drove to where that guy lived, & kicked his ass if he'd shafted me like that...The guy that did buy that amp had to spend like $1500 on it to get it back to working order...Like I said, I dodged a bullet, but I did end up with the DSL100, brand new, warranty & all, & I'm really happy with it...I know it doesn't have the tonal variations a JVM does, but to me, it's still a kick-ass amp...
Oh yeah, I've pretty much traded 2 of the T-75's, one for an Eminence Texas Heat (150w), & one for a Boss ST-2...Yeah, it's another od pedal, but I'd probably use it more than I'm using the T-75's, which is never...I still have the one I got from Greg in my ISO cab, & will probably try the Texas Heat in there, just to see if the tone is useable, which I very seriously doubt....The ISO cab is still good for a low-noise/silent di tracking thing though....Re-amp 'em through the real deal after I get the performance recorded....
