Please rephrase that?? I don't understand what you are saying![]()
Tenpin bowling, tascam dude....

Please rephrase that?? I don't understand what you are saying![]()
Wait, do you have to bowl the opposite direction down under?
No, if they did that the ball would fall to the ceiling.
I NEVER INTENDED TO MAKE THIS A TECHNICAL DIGITAL VERSES ANALOG THREAD![]()
No, if they did that the ball would fall to the ceiling.
The minute you started picking at the "distortion" stuff...you opened that can of worms.
I think all you really wanted was to just tell everyone how much you love your old analog gear and how you think its the best sounding stuff....blah, blah, blah.....and you just want other people to only say how much they love their old analog gear and to agree with you that it's the best sounding stuf....blah, blah, blah.....but without actually getting into anything substantial (intellectual and technical).....which in the end, will amount to a whole lot of nothing.
Hey, we can all have an analog/tape, Kumbaya-group-hug moment.....but that doesn't offer much food for actual discussion about analog gear technology and analog recording techniques, etc, etc.
OK...so then what do you really want to talk about besides your love of old analog gear....but that is non-intellectual and non-technical?

While I understand your frustration with that, nonetheless that's how it is ........ you don't get to limit the discussion.
thing is TASCAM ..... you don't seem to quite understand how the board works.
You do NOT get to dictate what people say in your threads.
Just like any conversation in real life, they get to come in a make any comments or observations they want.
It's your continual misunderstanding that simply saying something other than what you want to hear does not mean the same thing as attacking you.
If you say something that is factually incorrect people are gonna jump in and correct it regardless of any wishes of yours that they confine themselves to only saying what you want them to say.
While I understand your frustration with that, nonetheless that's how it is ........ you don't get to limit the discussion.
......is it that you are offended that I don't use computers or something? I believe that's whats eating at you.
....and YES a few "Kumbaya's" as you so gracefully put it, I would have love to seen more and did get a few. So you are totally wrong in your assessment of my attitude in my reasons behind what my intentions were when I started this post....
Yeah.....that's it.
I got racks and racks of analog gear and a bunch of tape decks that I use in every recording session....
.....but what's eating me is that you "don't use computers or something".
Wait...so you agree about my "Kumbaya" assemement....but then you say I'm totally wrong...?
Ain't noting wrong with wanting a "feel good about myself and what I'm doing" moment.
However, as has been pointed out a few times, you stepped out of your "feel good" box in a couple of other threads and here too.
You wanna just feel good by saying "I love recording to analog/tape, who else does?"....that's one thing....but when you introduce what are viewed as technical opinions (or attempts at), then people will respond to that, not the "I love......" stuff.
Oh....and I'm tired of guys saying that this is "just a home recording" forum....as though it's a get-out-of-jail-card whenever they step in it and are not able to speak somewhat intellectually and technically....or at least make an attempt at.
Not talking about being real lofty and all scientist-like, but home-rec is not just a bunch of "pimple-faced kids" playing around with things they know little of.
Sure, the newbs may initially be like that (not necessarily pimple-faced), but home-rec still requires in many cases, as much intellectual and technical focus, skill, knowledge, interest...as pro-rec does. The equipment is identical or very close, and the audio technology behind it IS the same.
Anyone that just wants to press a button on a box and then go "look at me Ma, I'm recording" and not go beyond that...that's their own decision. I'm not saying you do that....but you also can't dance around the hard technology while making what are viewed as technical assumptions.
Anyway....no one was just trying to ruin your "feel good" moment or to beat on you for no particular reason.
You were very arrogant to a few guys who have forgotten more about audio than you will ever know, and you took positions of technical knowledge with them in your assumptions....then went back-pedaling and doing the "I'm a country boy, aw shucks fellows, cut me a break" after people responded technically.
Choose your topics and words.....![]()
There was this one time in the studio, I had this reel of 456 that accidentally started to spool off....and as it fell across my hand....
Wow and then what !?!?![]()
