No dice. I can not monitore the track. Cant be heard in sink mode, only in repo mode with delay.
I called Tascam yesterday and they said that some of the early models had a time delay and that you can not punch in while monitering. The only way is to have a second party punch in the track selector button on top.
Dose any one know how to fix this problem.
Yes that is correct.
When the function select switch is depressed you can not hear that track. Said switch must be depressed prior to punch in recording. There for one cannot monitor any sound to punch in. I have a momentary foot switch on a cable inserted into the punch in jack on the back of the machine. The Tascam tech new immediately exactly what I was talking about, it was not speed. He said on early 38 models this was a problem in design, and that the only way to punch in on my machine is to have a second person depress a function select switch while you are playing in record mode. I have tried that and it works, but again two people.
I could not understand how tascam could have made the machine like this either, but they did, BELIEVE ME, I have one. A punch in jack that no one can monitor.
Has any one rewired this machine to correct this problem and have drawings available of schematics ?
To my knowledge Tascam doesn't deal with it.
Thanks, Steve
