no shit. otoh, much of that mess was because the tracks weren't lining up for you in reaper. having subsequently switched to reaper, i did find the setting option that you failed to select upon importing those tracks. :p

Lol. Bullshit. I imported them all in bulk to their own tracks. It was still little pieces of half a guitar track here, half a vocal track over there. ;)

And Here is my attempt, i heard a lot of mixes, they are great... hope mine is at least as good as yours. Thanks Greg for the track, i enjoyed big time.

Texas Terror

Which is relative to what I'm saying about this mix contest. I just think it should've been harder: Lower quality recordings that don't mix themselves.

Don't speak too soon about how easy it is to mix nicely tracked tracks...you haven't heard my ability to butcher perfectly mixable, well tracked tracks yet.

:)

Ill try to give this a shot tomorrow if the files are still up...just about got everything installed again

Im sure it needs some synth, Gregs tracks always need some synth :)

OK here' smy effort.

Nice jobon the raw tracks Greg. Thing just about mixed itself.

"much" may have been a bit too drastic. :laughings:

YEa but the end result was pretty decent. Im still listening to the fucking song in my itunes at work.

IT's a great tune and sounds good.

I didn't hear it pre-gerg but in the end the combined efforts were stellar.

thanks, man. VERY cool!

im workin on it, never mixed a full band before. thanks greg, I'm psyched!

I can't believe you got Guitar Rig to sound decent.

believe it. i can't believe he gets everything he does to sound stellar, but song after song he posts is incredibe. which leads me to believe someone else is doing it then giving it to him to post. :p

Greg...you should post your Guitar Rig presets so I can see them :D

I can't get that thing to sound real to save my life.

Guitar Rig is pretty fucking accurate. Treat it like a real amp and you can't screw it up. I don't do anything special. I pick a head (usually one of the Marshalls), a cab (usually two 1960's), a few mics (usually a 57 and a tube condenser), position the mics, and let er rip. When I recorded real tube half-stacks, I didn't do anything different. I use GR at about 1% of it's full capability. I honestly don't understand how anyone can't get a usuable take with it.

I agree. In a blind hearing test 10 out of 10 cant tell the difference between a real amp or Guitar Rig. Though they say they can :drunk:
