Are you using ProTools on a Linux system?

Nope, its Sonar 8 on XP.
I do run Ardour on Linux occasionally though.
The top picture is booted into Vista (never do any music stuff with Vista).
Triple boot :)

I use a whole lot of traditional outboard stuff...

Keyboards, guitars, mixers and multi FX. My little Tascam DP02 is working out fine for my rig. It only has two inputs and you can only record two tracks at a time, but, being a one man band, it works fine for me. I simply run all of my stuff through my 32 channel board and then into the Tascam and it all works fine. USB keyboards, virtual guitars, drums and synths...I know nothing about this stuff...not that I have anything against it all though...

Dude the girl in those pics looks super bored.
Here are some pics of my cave.

I need one more post in order to post some pics...................so here it is!!!

I just moved into this room, and I find it very comfortable.

Hey I have that same 4 track cassette portastudio....what do you use it for these days? Haha, 'these days'....I got mine in about 2003 or 2002.

hardly even comparable

so here's my studio mind you i am broke!!! :) i got those rp5 monitors for $55 each! and two sm57 for $40 each i'm a deal hound. hopefully by the time im in my thirties i'll have a respectable job and have a studio half as cool as some of the stuff i've seen on here.

It was the first Postastudio I bought new back in '98:eek:
I find it useful when recording drums following a guitarist:
All mics intoTascam 2488 --> Tascam 2488 line out --> Tascam 414
Guitar and click track go into the 414.

I've only done this once, and worked like a charm:)

Cheers!

Here's mine

Yeah, some of my stuff is outdated (15 years or so) but it still works great. I've yet to find another keyboard today that has the same realistic piano sounds as my Ensoniq TS-10.
In the next couple months, I will be building a real studio in a space about 16'x24'. Once it's finished, I will post the pics on here.

GreyH, nice gear mate:)
You have the right equipment to make great recordings; so another 2488 user. What are your comments on how it has worked for you? I've had mine for more than a year, and it's a great machine, no complaints:D

Formant, you too have one, wow, 3 2488s on the same page:)
I'm sure all that gear will look gorgeous in the new studio.

Cheers!

i want to post pictures of my studio but i need 5 posts first...here we go!

Hey Nico, add me to the list...

I just received my 2488MKII last Tuesday (bought it brand new off Backstreet Music/Ebay)...I'm still finishing up tracks on my DP02 so I haven't jumped into it yet, but your enthusiasm encourages me.

HAHA!!! I DID IT! Took me 8 hours, but I went from page 1 to page 96! Wow, just want to say everyone who has posted pics, and tips for others to see, THANKS! The studios look great! When I get my build completed I will be sure to add the pics in here. :)

Been reading the forum for awhile now and this is by far my fave thread. There are some seriously awesome studios here, better than I could ever hope for. Some bigger than my house, some vocal booths bigger than my room!
Got lots of ideas for things I should do with my little space though, especially from the accoustics and will be re-arranging everything tomorrow.

Thanks for all the useful tips I've already picked up from everybody

yeah i'm definately happy with my 2488 it does everything i want it to do, except some of the mic fx are pretty bad but i hardly use them anyway. also, lately my buttons don't work, i have to push them in several times and then they work. other than that it's working out alright.
