Hello! I had time being out for vacation from college so I decided to make a rough demo of a song called "Perfect Night"... Check it out! its a soft acoustic guitar with piano song =]

ALL critiques are welcome, I love hearing comments from other people whether they are good or bad =] Also i can't really record drums because I can't get them to sound right with just two mics =/. I use a USB mixer so I can only use 2 ins and 2 outs. If anyone wants to record drums to it I would really appreciate it! Thanks, the link is below...Thanks for your time.

Ill be putting up more demos soon of my heartbreak songs haha

That's a lovely song - I like the composition and especially the vocals. You remind me a bit of Elliot Smith... (don't you hate comparisons:)).

There are a few points (e.g. the chorus) where I'd like to hear some harmony vocals come in to give the song some added heft. Or maybe the drums could come in there.

haha, yeah, i really like it to, i deffintelly hear the elliott smith in there, haha,

...

heyyyyyyyyyyy thanks for the comments!... Man thats like the thousandth time someone had said I sound like that artist!... Thanks for listening!, yeah i wish i can add some drums to it =[, And I kind of rushed getting the song up because I wanted this girl to hear it, hahaha =]. Thanks again!

Hello 14,
Sounds like...YOU!
I don't know that it really needs drums - grab a tambourine & then a shaker and add some subtle rhythmic elements.
It's a nice song - you'll need to work on the distant everything bit to get it to really work - probably o'dub or double track that line on a sep. track & experiment with the effects. Actually the dtracking & effects might work better - there are a couple of ppoints where it'd add more texture like on the outro.
I think you'll either have to re track the solo or fade in the accompanying guitar a bit more carefully as they compete for a couple of notes.
Nice song and a good attempt - I hope she was impressed.

Hey rayC! Thanks for listening, yeah! thats a great idea, I think i might go steal a tambourine from my school or something... Haha, or just go buy one... =], Thanks again!

And she loved it! haha.

Heyy... Does anyone want to record some tambourine? or other percusive instruments on my song??? I would appreciate it a lot =].

Take care

I love it. I suppose you can add some percussion to it, but I love it the way it is.

I think it stands on it's own as it is-all the elements it needs are in place.
Good Job!

Whoa, I am overwhelmed at such positive comments!!! Thanks so much for taking the time to give it a listen, i really appreciate it. Jordan, is it cool if i send you the file? so you can add some percussion to it? Ill private message you... thanks

That Jordan fag is one instance where rep points really tell the tale.

Good work and a good voice. 14... 18... 40... who cares?. This has an artistically genuine feel to it. And it's recorded in a way that communicates that. What else do you want?:D
Sure, it could be technically better but that's secondary.

Re percussion collaboration, Reklus and Greg make a good point. If JordanD posts something that isn't total BS it'll be a first.

If there's any way you can record the acoustic with a microphone...it'll always be better. It might take some EQ to sound decent, but don't be afraid to use it.

output jacks on acoustic guitars are good for playing live...and for tuners...and that's about it, lol.

Nice tune.
