Ez should be reinstated. He should never have been banned IMO.
EDIT:
Also IMO... ez's banning, as crazy as this may seem to someone new to HR, is at the heart of the real issues that have eroded HR's strength as a recording-community-that's-like-a-Wild-West-town-with-edgy-humor-but-a-good-heart-that-used-to-attract-1200+viewers-at-a-time kind of place.
Dude, I appreciate your little art project or Kauffmanesque comedy routine.
Keep it out of the on-topic forums or I will make it my sole purpose in life to get you banned from this website. Again.
Act like an idiot all you like in the Cave.
Fair warning.
There are some good people that post in both (and RP too). There were some good people who followed him out of misguided loyalty, but that was their choice...
Sorry Dragon is a moderator/admin and you are not allowed to ignore him or her.
I think this refers to the financial impact on Dragon that a major migration to A & A would cause.
Post reported.Bingo.
ez posted at RP how his goal was to hurt me financially. That, and his invitations to people here to his new website that he started up for that very purpose, were what got him banned.
Philippe knows the entire story in detail, and it's up to him whether he wants to allow such an unrepentant indivudual with such a history back here. Of course, if he did, ez would no doubt waste no time in repeating his antics, and then when he finally exceeded even Philippe's patience, ez would end up once again with a posse of followers claiming that Philippe was a fascist censor, HR is crap, the Cave is no good anymore, ad nauseum.
It's all an act. And in spite of their "Anarchistic" name, ez managed to be censoring and banning people the first week the site was up. And in spite of their stirring up a tempest in a teapot over "all those terrible ads" on HomeRec...ez has managed to sneak them in on his users also...allegedly to "support the server" which (as ez boasted to me in email) costs a whopping $15 a month!
They should call that place "Home Recording Hypocrites" instead.
All posting boobie pictures in the Cave.
What, do you think we should just let him back in to advertise his competing BBS?
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!
ez wrote to me in email, seemingly contrite and "thought we should get together in person to talk". After a single noncommittal response, he was screeching like an old maid deprived of her Steely Dan albums and back to his old insulting nasty tricks.
That says it all, really. If I can't play his way, I can't play at all in his book. He's much more of a control freak than anyone has ever made me out to be. He's happier in his little fiefdom, and we're all better off without him (and Ed!). There were some good people who followed him out of misguided loyalty, but that was their choice...

Can a mod look into a problem someone is having with their account?

Actually, The french AudioFanzine site and the International one are more or less independant. Mostly, the french stay on the French version. So the answer to the second part of your question would be: No.
The International version is run by anglophones: Americans (myself included) and Brits. Philippe doesn't interfere. He just wants the site to be the best it can be and to be coherent with the original site.
Yes. Except that it's not competing. The activity at aa is in their version of The Cave. And half of that seems to be about HR. You want to disarm the situation? Unban him. He was never an actual threat. He was joking. Well, until he was banned. IMO HR's got a lot to gain and nothing to lose in unbanning him....What, do you think we should just let him back in to advertise his competing BBS?...
+1Supercreep said:I just see an opportunity for HR to take the high road here.
I've been to Audiofanzine several times now, and gone through many of the forums in fine detail, going all the way back to the first forum posts. What strikes me is the simplicity of the answers there, and very few long threads. I'm concerned that many of the moderators there aren't qualified to answer a lot of the general questions that are posted here, based on what I've read there.
Bad answers, and incomplete answers, don't help people solve their problems. I'd really like to know who the moderators are going to be here, their backgrounds, and levels of expertise.
If moderators plan to take an active role here, I feel they should introduce themselves in the appropriate forums.
Just my 2¢.
I think answering the questions can be handled by the membership...moderators need not be experts at the forum topic, or even well versed in it....they are there to keep things flowing on topic and kick the chessrock types to the curb and handle spam....
they better not..i live to see Groty's balls.......and remove 37 of the same testicles photos a day.
