Should there be a seperate section for ebay Links/sales on this message board/forum.

I voted yes...

Hell yeahhhh....

But can't you make a no ebay link rule? cause if I wanted to look at ebay i would look at ebay

Why do you care? I've wasted more time reading your crying than I've seen anything regarding ebay auctions in my entire time here. It's pretty easy to either backspace or move to the next post....................... or launch a movement to rule out ebay links. You know, whatever works.

The point of a seperate section is so people can post links to ebay and the people who want to avoid ebay/links can just ignore or not click on that section...having no links to ebay is another option however I think its better to allow links to ebay and just have a seperate section for it.

I prefer seeing peoples ebay feedback...it builds trust between members when wanting to buy sell or even trade because you can see that member is an honest person.

Also there could be a sticky for good and bad sellers...people could post and say avoid this seller or that seller and so on...I think its a good idea and it works well on other forums.

Of course you could BUT it would serve no real purpose other than to alienate a certain portion of the community here.

Yes for the seperate Ebay section. I look on ebay frequently already, and I admit it is nice to see something for sale that you dont really need, but you want anyways, so I see a positive on both sides of the fence. It really is not a big deal to me either way. But I do see this place as a community, and it is nice to buy and trade from people that you do know. Yes it kind of sucks to not have feedback, but if you look hard enough you will find the good sellers/traders on here. It just seems more personal to sell eachother gear through here, and though I dont know most of you fuckers that well:D, it is cool to deal directly with you, instead of some dude selling on the bay. I do see adds to ebay links from people with no post counts, and thats bogus.

So, in conclusion, a seperate section would be nice, thugh it is not vital. I really dont care either way though, I dont buy enough shit on here for it to matter, only one transaction thus far. But, I do trust buying from someone through this site who has been around for a while and is well regarded rather than some shmuck who you dont know at all on the bay. Plus, there's the issue of cross marketing, which seems like they would want the highest bidder rather than someone who is part of the community in which they frequent.

End mini-rant.

Am I the only one here who finds it ironic that there are currently 3 thread in the top 6 of the fs forum complaining about how auction linked ads clutter up the for sale forum? At least they are ostensibly to sell gear.
I appreciate threads that indicate that they are for auction ("FA") if that's what they are, but if they aren't, I soldier on and let it go

What would work is if........1) You had to have a certain number of post counts or be registered here for a certain length of time before you can start a new thread in the "for sale" section. This would still allow newer members to purchase but could limit the risk of bogus sellers.......... and 2) For the Admin to somehow make it mandatory that thread titles show either FS, FT or FA.

For those who seem to think the community loyalty should come first........yes, it's a great sentiment BUT the cold, hard reality is, that if you really need or want to sell something, common sense dictates that you expose your items to the largest possible market, which for better or worse usually means using Ebay.

Who the crap is voting "no?" Own up!

My guess is it's the same folks saying I'm an ass for being irritated about all the ebay links. My spider senses also tell me these are the same people posting links to .... you guessed it, ebay.

Like I said, I don't really care where or how you sell your items, BUT at least notify us in the subject line if its a friggin link to ebay.

This poll is a much closer race between yes and no than I thought it would be...

We have a "good guy" thread already. Let us know when you come up with something original. K, ty.

Hows about a 'GOOD GUY' list instead of a thread, and make it a sticky at the top of the forum so there will be NO doubt about it....????? going thru all the thread to find someones name is a bit of a chore.....

try the "search this thread" option which is above the top post of each page of a thread

That's what I would vote for but it's not one of the choices. What's the frickin' hurry to sell your crap? Post the item here for a week and if it doesn't sell put it on Ebay. That way you've given the forumites first crack at it so there's no need to post an Ebay link here. Anyone that can't do it this way is obviously just here to spam rather than contribute.
