I'm not interested in editing so much, just recording. I have pre-recorded tracks to sing to and just want to lay the vocals down. I was using Audacity and liked it for it's ease of use. Now for some reason some of the meters and settings are all out of whack and the Audacity tutorial offers no answers. I have Reaper and haven't yet been able to make heads or tails of it. The Help section of Reaper doesn't have any contents.
What do you all think are good programs for recording that aren't too outrageous in price? Someone told me Cool Edit is good.

. I guess you could always remove the program and re-install it if you're set on using it..
