Look...I could be mis-interpreting the whole question/issue here, but at least check for the following.
ok......deep breath.....could be just a glitch....i don't know what you do, but anyways....
when u say "it plays on wave view but not on multi view", do you mean you can't hear 'it' on multi, or it won't play (scroll/run) on multi view.??
If it's the former, then you simply have a configuration issue, simple.
Goto options>settings>device preferences/order and pick YOUR master soundcard for your playback.
(ie. and example only)....put your 'master sound card' at the top of the 'playback' list....do the same for recording side..to be sure.
Go back to you multi view and ensure that number '1' is selected as your playback for all trax.
bam...u should hear 'it' now in multi view!.....er...um...I hope!
PS..your space bar will only work if you've actually activated that particular cool edit window. (maximised and active).
