switching from PA9 to Sonar 7

What new features should I know about? I already opened it up, and although it feels more complicated, it still has a feel as if i were at home. I mostly wanted new sounds. Thus far, I've only had the basic General MIDI, Roland XG, and Yamaha XS sounds. I just bought Sonar 7 from a buddy...

Hey, I have the following software for burning: Module Name: Roxio Creator Plus Dell Edition Build: 2.4.32b I read somewhere that it burns Redbook compliant, but I don't think it is burning in that fashion. I have a CD player that plays all "professional recordings" but no burnt. I'm guessing...

    Headroom for mastering

I didn't know I was supposed to leave headroom for the mastering engineer. I set my mixes so that the loudest peak was directly under clip level. Is that a bad thing?

    I have a bleeding problem

Is bleeding bad? I have been bleeding from my nose for at least 6 hours now. :p No seriously, I am having a problem with bleeding. When I record vocals, the mic picks up the music from the headphones. It's not really loud or noticable, but it is there. Any tips before I bleed out?

    Let's give this a shot

OK, I know the clinic is for technical postings, and songwriting clinic is for musical issues, but when I posted over there, I got a technical review, so maybe you guys could do I musical review. It's nothing but a rough mix, and I have a lot of work to do to the instruments, because they're...

    Any opinions are greatly appreciated

I know we all hate links from any forum but the clinic, but I am posting a link to a ROUGH MIX I just got finished. I posted about this about a month ago, and everyone told me to record a roughie and post it. So here it is. I think it sounds fairly good, technically. How does everyone think...

    I'm back, beeyatches

Just a quick question. I'm in the process of recording a new song, and I recorded all my instruments today. I like their sound, except for the lead synth. Sounds beautiful, except for this hideous low growl. You should be able to hear it from listening to it. I have no clue how to get rid...

    Y'all are gonna kill me.

You might remember the rap song I posted a few months ago, and as you all know, I'm extremely anal about getting things right, so I made some changes, and I'm posting it again. The only problem I have right now is that I was straining slightly to hear the 1st and 3rd verse vocals, but they seem...

    A legal question about copyright

I just finished a song that I need to copyright, and here are the stats. Tim wrote the song, and is the sole author and claimant on Form PA. Tim also mixed down the music, and is given a claim to authorship on the Form SR. Dustin authored the final song recording, using Tim's final mix of the...

    Question about wrapping up mix

I've heard many different opinions on this, so I'm gonna ask. If I have drums running from bars 1-16, then 32-48, do you automate the volume fader down the whole way from 16-32. Does it matter if you keep the fader at the set volume if there's nothing running on the track.
