dude has it right.... man, you are so right in saying work on your recording technique... I won't even track unless I barely or don't have to eq when I listen to it on my monitor speakers!!!! That means I take hours to set up drums bascially... cause lets face it, guitar/vox is easy compared...

fun with mics yeah i've had a nady 1050 is alright, nothing that special, not durable at all... and the accessories aren't durable either. However the akg solid tube in my opinion is very nice. I have used them in a lot of studios and love the sound even over a u87 or something equivelent...

alright, so hear is my question/what i want out of this thread... I have recorded a lot and enjoy my mixes and recordings and such... only thing sometimes i don't like are my toms. The sounds of them are fine. Its the bleed through I get from the cymbals/etc... I know how mics work and all...

yeah the zildjian A's are nice, and also the newbeats are nice as well... atleast i like them for my music. Good for recording/such.

well, basically i have the stupid question of what everyone asks... how do you get "good" tom sound in a drum set in a mix... now, before i go any further i just want to say that I am already experienced in recording and have spent countless hours in the studio recording all sorts of things...

thanks thanks for replies. The funny thing about the oxford board is I don't actually like it... It has power and does the job, but only when it works. The thing actually crashes a lot. Like loading/saving snapshots and all that shit. If it worked good and didn't crash I would love it, but...

not too bad well it wasn't too bad, just a bit too much compression like said earlier... Bascially I mean I can hear it working way too much, and it isn't quite smooth enough. But now in the "mixed version" i can hear the kick and such and the snare isn't quite as a loud, definatly a lot...
