Hi all.

After being on this board, reading your kind words, reviews, youtube, google everything
i orderd a Zoom R16, and tommorow it will be in my hands. unpacked.

This sunday I will have a rehearsal with my band (Surmount :P) but it will only be me (guitar) and the drummer).

I have 4 mics at the moment.

So with regards to the zoom 16, that means 6 including the 2 condendes mics within the zoom r16.

I need advice, or your thoughts how to set it up. so i can play around with the zoom in the weekend, adding it in cubase and so one.

my thought was

guitar directly in the HiZ input in channel one.
channel 2 a mic in front of my speaker cabin net
channel 3 kick
channel 4 snare
channel 5 toms/overhad
channel 7/8 the condesed mics of the zoom r16 and than pointed/directed at the drums...

is this any good (please mind i'm totally new to this way of recording...so i it looks if i'm talking out of my ass....)

please give me your thoughts....

If you truly go direct from the guitar to the Z16, and assuming it is a solid-body electric, no one will be able to hear it!

Oh and I would really like to know how it works out - I have heard a lot of talk about these Zooms but have never used one... interested to know how they sound/work/etc...

since you are just getting your new interface I will not expect to hear from you for a few days :)
