If you're not sure which one to start with (after reading about each) send him an email and tell him a little about yourself, and what you would like to accomplish.

He'll recommend one for you.:D

Tell him I sent you.:)

I did a quick search of his site, as well as the links, but I couldn't find any samples.

Do you have a few you can post?

Yes, try this link. Then follow the mp3 link and look for Chris Duarte. These were recorded live, so they arn't the best sounding stuff, but you'll get the idea.

Listening to Baddness as I type...

Nice aggressive blues style... I like that.

you're right... I wouldn't be proud of this recording... from an engineering perspective!

Next cut, Watch Out, is a much better recording, though. Tasty Robin Trower feel to it... I like it. Lost the mp3 a third of the way through. It kept playing... but no music was coming out.

Third cut, Azul Ezell , gives me a weird feeling... like he wasn't having a good session... like he couldn't quite get his groove on. Strange tone to the guitar, too. Interesting piece, though. I like most anything live.:)

Thanks for posting it, 64!

those clips of Rusty were awesome. incredible chops and some nice choice of notes for sure... pretty nice tone too. However..... he could be easily mistaken for someone else, imo. and that takes away the 'god' status immediately. you recognize, hendrix, vanhalen, etc...right off the bat... as examples. rusty, is ....well fantastic...but original??

anyway...I know of no one better, personally,.... so I have no one to offer for your original question:rolleyes:

Doug yes!

And his tone is very very good. Clean! I alway find problem getting a good tone. Darn!!!

Doug,
i found some of Rusty's stuff a little while back and was just blown away. I live about 3 hours from atlanta and I just recently found out that he was living there. Im transfering to atlanta next year for school and im going to try and contact rusty about some lessons if i ever get there.
I also saw a video clip back from 89 and he was just smoking and he was so young. Very incredible.
Oh yeah, i cant remember the exact link but i really like Dave Martone's style. I think hes been featured on some of the same cd's rusty has.

Not that Rusty's playing is bad, but I think Michael Angelo's playing is more interesting and more balanced.

Big Buck!

Yeah, Zaza is a mofo!

Damn mp3.com... every clip I try to listen to gets almost all the way to the end of downloading... then the network connection fails... very disturbing... like they're protecting their bandwidth.

DarkCide... I'm with you. My favorite guitarist has always been David Gilmour... and he's not near the technician that Rusty, or many other guitarists are.

Back in the days of Hendrix, there weren't many guitar heros... now we have quite a selection.:D

For those of you unfamiliar with Michael Angelo and Nitro, heres a clip for you:

Yes, Dave is a monster out of Canada, and he was featured on the Alchemists compilation CD set... along with Rusty and many others.

Another "monster" on that set is Brett Garsed, who played with the Nelson twins in "Nelson". You might not think much of Nelson, but Brett... much like their drummer Bobby Rock, are truly world class musicians... nothing less.

That video clip of Rusty in 89 was in our band "Revolution", I am sure. I probably took the footage! For someone that had only been playing for four years, it is rather mind-blowing!

When you move to Atlanta, move to the north side somewhere. You'll like it better, and the drive to see Rusty won't take so long.:D

I thought he retired.

...Retired being GOD ? :D

...hehehe... I don't listen too much to nowdays guitarist (except classical...), so I don't think there's replacement to "older Gods" in my subjective view. Although there's many good ones come in the ring. Anyway, it's just funny seeing people make a poll to vote a new "GOD" :D What would it be if this happens in religious terms ? :D
