Yamaha mixer "fold back" ??

Hi all,

I talked to my friend who usually runs the mixer at out local folk gigs. I asked about direct outs for the 8 XLR inputs and he said the Yamaha board he uses has no direct outs but something called "fold back". I.E. FB1, FB2 etc. Anyone know what this means? It is a 15 year old mixer so I don't know what to think.
