Does anyone out there have any info on this model? I need a manual for it..picked it up on EBAY last month. The seller said he has it somewhere and if he finds it he'll send it to me but I don't have the time to wait. I contacted some other seller on there who had a board and manual and he's been dicking me around so if anyone can help, I thank you in advance!!

I have a manual for a studiomaster P7 which is a 16/8/2 board wit midi and presets. If you can't come up with the manual for your board this could be of help. The manual isn't that good on using the board. It's more about the functions of each section.

Oh yeah..I forgot to mention its the OLD 80's StudioMaster board not one of the newer ones.

I have one (the board and a manual) but I don't want to sell. What do you want to know?

There are several web sites where you can download the manual for a small fee.
Other web sites give product descriptions and brief PDF manuals for free. I just googled it and got a number of useful hits.

I'd actually just want a copy of the manual. I found NO good info through google. I'd even pay a fair amount to have someone send me a photocopied manual which is what that guy ojn Ebay told me he'd do then back out. My main thing I don't understand on the board that I can think of off hand are

1. the in/out jacks on the channels - what are they used for and how? (its a single 1/4" jack. how can switch back and forth between in/out?

2. the assignment buttons (l-r), (1-2), (3-4), (5-6), (7-8) on the LR master faders---what do they do?

3. The 1khz slate tone..what is that for?

I've got all kinds of questions and the manual will help me out greatly. Thanks

What sites? I found very very basic infor through google.

1 The in/out jacks are inserts. These are for inserting a processor on an individual channel (things like and external EQ or a compressor).
2. The assignment buttons are just that, they assign the channel they're associated with to a destination, like either the main left/right mix buss, or the any of the sub groups 1 through 8. This is a VERY usfull thing.
3. The slate tone is for calibrating the board and level matching.

Track Rat..

What I don't get is how can one in/out jack be used for a channel.
If my processor has 2 jacks--1 in and one out, how is that connected to my mixer to affect the sound? Does the out from fx device go to another channel strip or an aux return or what? I did find that halfway inserting a 1/4" jack gets sound thru.

On the assign buttons..I know what they do as far as the individual channel strips go but I'm puzzled as to what they do on the L/R faders.

on the slate tone, I had kinda figured thats what it was for. Pretty cool idea actually.

Please forgive my ignorance. This is my first real mixer and recorder setup (ADAT LX20)..,upgraded from a Tascam 424 MK!!!

The inserts are on a stereo type connector, the pin is send and the ring is return (my console has the pin out silk screened right on the console). You'll need a cable with a 1/4" stereo type connector on the mixer end that fans out to two mono 1/4" connectors.

TRACK RAT:

Thanks for the info. I'm still looking for someone to sell me a manual or to copy me one!!!!!!!!!! I'll pay!
