Is this the same one as before?
I don't have a link to the one that ended April 24.

The TEAC X -1000R BL which ended at US $898.99 is the same one as before. Non-paying bidder I guess but it did end at almost the same amount the second time around. The one that ended at $2025.00 USD, however, is a completely different one, won by that same person.

Those prices on the RE-711 reels scare the crap out of me............I have a couple of them here with the original boxes, not mint, but definitely in good condition. Pity I don't want to sell them just yet.

The way the prices are going, it won't be long until you can trade in an RE-711 reel for a nice car! :D

Be careful with those "new deck, never used" auctions..
Many people save box, packing material etc for storage purposes.
That does not mean the deck has never been used... several people has contacted me after buying "new decks" from Ebay after discover the deck does not work properly..
Rubber-belts dries out and sometime melt inside.
Electrical parts starts leaking and fail, gummed up linkage etc..
There was a auction last year I remember with Tascam 38 never used, and the same seller was selling 20 tapes at the same time, all used..
Yea right,, and stated the Tascam was never used. :p

I bought a Teac X-3 MK II private from a gentleman in NY last week, that he got from Ebay.
Won the auction from a seller in CA, and stated as mint and everything works....
Arrived in NY damaged because of poor packing, headstack pushed in 2 inches, broken knobs, both reel-tables busted..
So I bought it for parts, after arrival I took it apart and discover, drive-belt was totally melted inside...so even if the deck had been packed good, it was not working as the seller listed in the auction..
Be careful,,, ask alot of questions before buying something you regret later,

just my 2-cents

I've been thinking the same thing lately. It's a shame they're not on producing them anymore because I'm ready to buy. I spent 4 yrs recording on a Roland 1880 kept buying new things to improve the sound all along the way finally now I've said screw it. I picked up an old tascam m-308 mixing board and broke out the fostex a8 that's been sitting in a crawl space for 4 years. IT SOUNDS BETTER!
