Folks:

Is word clock the same as midi clock? I see that the M-audio delta 1010 will synch with word clock. My Korg d16 has midi clock capability (also MTC ans MMC), and I want to synch it with a delta 1010 or some other card.

Thanks

Not the same, sorry.

Word clock is used to line up the sampling rates of two digital devices, and doesn't include any location timing information. It just spews out a sample rate clock for another device to sync to.

You will need to have midi I/O on your soundcard to use midi clock or midi time code (which is a form of SMPTE time code).

MMC stands for Midi Machine Control, and is just used for transport functions, like to start a machine playing from another machine, or to rewind a machine, etc.

Good day!

Thanks for that concise answer. My quest continues.
