ear art's not a science
Being new to cakewalk, but familiar with many other programs, I can't help but ask why no one is producing an instructional video. I have found these very helpful in other programs of equal difficulty. photoshop is a good example. I learned more in an hour watching someone else manipulate a photo, than I did in months of experimenting on my own. If you are a cakewalk guru there is an opportunity here to have a pretty nice income from producing a home video(since a pro version is not available) of tips and tricks. I have done it myself with photoshop and a video camera. No it was not a pro job but it sure helped the people who I was teaching to work graphics. The sonar manual pretty much stinks and the other resources are all books as well. I have been struggling with this program for over 3 months and can barely record anything worthwhile. I dont want to be a pro sound guru but I would like to be able to produce a fair recording of my music. Every new recording poses yet another challenge of hidden knowledge and hunting for "whats wrong now". yes I know that you all have been there but did you have any help, firsthand, and did you go ,WoW, I didnt know that, at any time if someone did show you something. There are a lot of people out there who do not know anyone who uses the program and therefore we are all forced to invent the wheel over and over. The person who produces a good lenghty video of audio manipulation in cakewalk/ sonar can make a nice profit and probably offset equipment costs. I know that I would buy one for $25, would you? please don't respond that the best way to learn this is through hard work and experimentation. I know this bit a little educational help is in order with a program like this. someone with good teaching skills and cakewalk knowledge set up a video camera and show off your knowledge. then put it up on ebay.
