Yeah, but doesn't that procedure just copy the Session information from the original?

What I've done is open a new session and insert the tracks I want from the original session, WITHOUT THE SESSION FILE, and then go through the Save As procedure.

I do this because if I'm not really careful when I'm recording in multitrack (deleting and rerecording a particular track), the session can get completely screwed up. Then when I try to open the session later on, I get a dialog that asks me to find Track 3, Track 4, Track 5, and I have to do a lot of clicking to get Cool to load the tracks. Bullshit. The best thing is to be really careful right from the start. If things go wrong, you can salvage it though.

Yes it does copy the session info, including (I think)saving tracks that may not be actually present on screen in th multitrack session, but were part of the session at one stage. But it does give you the option of saving every associated file where you want.

I see what you mean though, your way would be better for reclaiming hard disk space, as you only take the tracks you definately want ...you don't happened to know of the top of your head if 'time-locked' .wavs get inserted into a new session still locke into the right place do you ? If that info is stored in the.PK files maybe, and not the .SES file I could do some serious tidying up.

Hi guys,

thx for the advice, it helps a lot!! Dobro, I know your feeling about saving. I'm also not carefull enough I records and delete stuff constantly, and when I quickly want to save a wav, it often happens it gets saved in the wrong folder (damn CEP also offers the last opened folder to save in).

You should also name your tracks, so if one gets missing you can find them. I wa

You should also name your tracks, so if one gets missing you can find them. I was stupid not to do that so I got heaps of track 1 (9) track 2(4) and that kinda stuff.
