I sit on you.
I'm tired of my crap-o Berri mixer and no preamps worth a crud! So I am looking at a new mixer and possibly a preamp, if needed. So far, what I've been looking at for mixers are:
Mackie 1402-VLZ PRO $400.00
-I really want more mic ins, 6 is really pushing it.

Soundcraft E8 $360.00
-8 mic ins is just about what I want, plus I like the layout of this mixer!

Yamaha MG16/6 FX $380.00
-Plenty of mic ins, I'm not too worried about the effects.

I really just want a mixer with great preamps. Of these 3, which do ya'll think would be best suited? I don't mind purchasing a preamp, allowing it's under 200 bucks! Also, are there any other mixers worth looking into? Just incase, I'm running the mixer into a M-Audio Delta 1010LT, with a decent computer, and Sonor 4 Prod. I want to still be able to record all the intruments in a normal band (guitar(s), bass, vox, drums, etc.) . I've got the mics, now I need the equipment to complement them!

(I'm confident these 3 mixers will COMPLETLEY blow my Behringer UB1222FX-P.O.S. away!?)

I'm a big fan of soundcraft and owning that yamaha at one point, I would go with the soundcraft

C'mon guys. I know you all can tell me something more.

Maybe this'll help...

BEHRINGER IS AWESOME AND SOUNDS GREAT RECORDED!!! :D

that hurt to type...

I've never used soundcrafts that much. I'm not sure about the e-series, but the m-series has great preamps. I own a mackie-vlz pro and the preamps are better than my soundcraft compact and better than any behringer I've used. The only preamp in the price range that I thought was better than the vlz-pro is the DMP-3, and it is only slightly better because it is more forgiving. Between the mackie and yamaha, if you are only concerned about the preamps go with the mackie. But if price and mixing is a concerned the yamaha mg (i also own one) has better eq and costs less. Hopefully someone else can give insight on the soundcraft E-Series.
